This past summer I had the wonderful opportunity of collaborating with the UN International Organization for Migration in the Preparedness and Response division. Working with the Camp Coordination and Camp Management team, I served as the CCCM Information Management Intern. The CCCM team is in charge of the activities IOM holds as Co-lead of the Global CCCM Cluster for natural disasters.

One of the great projects that I was involved in was the risk assessments for COVID-19 spread and effects in camps and camp-like settings for displaced populations. I participated in the analysis of data from current pandemic risk assessments to extrapolate useful methodologies and indicators into humanitarian settings. IOM, and in particular the CCCM team, is contributing to the Global Humanitarian Response Plan for the COVID-19 crisis. I was also able to collaborate in the gathering and analysis of information for the continued update of the GHRP.
