I had the privilege of interning with the World Bank’s Kosovo team on a project targeting better Early Childhood Development (ECD) outcomes in the country. My internship provided me with the unique opportunity of working on a multi-sectoral team with technical experts from the fields of Health & Nutrition, Education, and Social Protection. Being exposed to a diverse array of expertise not only deepened my understanding of the education sector but also exposed me to the nuances and intricacies of the Health & Nutrition and Social Protection fields as well. Under my team’s guidance, I designed and implemented two surveys to gather qualitative evidence on projects being done by NGOs and social workers in Kosovo. These surveys will help inform the World Bank on how to target funding for ECD projects at the national scale.
