Kamilla Zakirova
Class of 2022
Kamilla Zakirova brings broad experience to the GHD program. Prior to joining Georgetown, she worked with the Eurasia Foundation on supporting civil society initiatives and combating human trafficking in Central Asia. Kamilla’s experience also includes working with the U.S. Mission to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and consulting for a Washington, DC-based think tank on security and counterterrorism in Central Asia. Kamilla is a co-founder of the American Uzbekistan Association which focuses on supporting the Uzbek diaspora in the US and fostering collaboration between American and Uzbek people. In addition, she is developing a project which supports minorities and vulnerable populations in Uzbekistan. Born and raised in Uzbekistan, Kamilla holds a BA degree from Tashkent University of Information Technologies. She speaks English, Russian, Uzbek and Spanish. At Georgetown, Kamilla intends to expand her professional network and learn from the diverse experiences of faculty and her classmates. She has a specific interest in the Latin American region.
