Shirin Vetry
Class of 2022
Shirin Vetry graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Political Science and minors in international development and French. Her work and volunteer experiences include implementing an anti-radicalization project at the International Organization for Migration in Uganda, piloting a social enterprise in France with Middle Eastern refugees, and supporting bi-lateral labor cooperation at the Organization of American States in DC. She also has experience conducting research on livelihoods. Her research includes a comparative study on Somali and Congolese livelihoods in Kampala, Uganda as well as research on production and diversification of livelihoods in the Bolivian Amazon and Eastern Uganda. Most recently, Shirin completed a Fulbright grant in Colombia where she also co-founded a non-profit for entrepreneurs working in the fashion industry.
