Understanding the Actors of the United States Food and Agricultural Sector
I worked as the Development Research Intern at the Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research. FFAR is a non-profit organization whose mission is to build public-private partnerships to support bold science, especially in the United States’ food and agriculture sectors. As the Development Research Intern, my duties were to help the Development team with fundraising and development activities specific to their funded research in food and agriculture. In this capacity, I helped identify prospect information in relevant industries and provide organizational support as needed. Some of the deliverables that I generated include developing research profiles on companies, foundations, individuals, or trade associations for partnership opportunities and providing summaries of the week’s news articles related to food and agriculture. I was involved in various research projects and programs which include food waste, agriculture and climate change, biofuels/bio-based materials, and development of underutilized crops, and the diversity of nutritious foods.
