Mohini Malhotra has 30 years of experience as a development economist, working with non-profit organizations, consulting firms, multi-lateral development banks, and as an entrepreneur across all regions of the world. She currently divides her time between multiple roles:

·      Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University’s graduate School of Foreign Service, teaching core courses she designed - Principled Leadership, and Ethical Leadership and International Development;

·      Senior Advisor at two international non-profit organizations – Imago Global Grassroots and the Partnership for Transparency Fund;

·      Founder of a social art venture (www.artbywomen.gallery) to support women and girls globally;

·      Volunteer board member, Chair, Strategic Planning Committee, of Sitar Arts Center, working with youth from low-income families in DC through the arts.

From 1995 to 2014, she worked at the World Bank in various leadership capacities:

·      Founded and managed CGAP, a global multi-donor partnership program on financial inclusion, primarily aimed at women;

·      Led a program to upgrade slums and housing for the poor through Cities Alliance - a global partnership;

·      Headed the South Asia program based in India on building country capacity across a range of topics (governance and accountability, HIV/Aids and health systems, urban development), in partnership with civil society organizations;

·      Advised governments in Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe and Asia on small business and private sector development initiatives.

·      Managed the Leadership Development and Staff Learning Department and chaired the Corporate-wide Learning Board.

·      Was awarded several awards for excellence in leading teams towards quality results, including Manager of the Year.

 Mohini has a B.A. in Development Economics from the University of Minnesota, a Master’s in Business Administration from American University (Rome, Italy/Washington, DC), a certification in Facilitation from Georgetown University. She is originally from Nepal, speaks Spanish, Italian, Nepali and Hindi, and is the author of numerous publications on economic development issues, and more recently, is trying her hand at literary fiction.
