Although he grew up in small-town Ohio, Jeremy has been fortunate to have led the life of a global citizen. After graduating from The Ohio State University in 2017 with a degree in Spanish language and Latin American studies, Jeremy spent two years as a Fulbright Grantee in Colombia. There, he taught English at universities in the Colombian Andes and Amazon Rainforest, and engaged in numerous volunteer and community-organizing initiatives, from teaching yoga to working as a Spanish-English translator.

Jeremy found his experience South America transformational, and it motivated him to pursue a career in international development. To that end, in 2021, he obtained a master’s degree in communications and media studies from Sciences Po Paris, where he was both an Émile Boutmy Scholar and commencement speaker.

For the past five years, Jeremy has been working at the intersection of communications and socio-environmental issues, at organizations ranging from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's (OECD) Environment Directorate and the United Nations Environment Programme, to Rainforest Foundation US and most recently the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

Jeremy is joining the GHD program with hopes of developing the skills he will need to support local solutions to global problems. He wants to work directly with local communities, and is particularly passionate about supporting climate resilience; biodiversity protection; and the safety, human rights, and economic and political empowerment of afro-descendant and indigenous peoples everywhere. Beyond his professional pursuits, Jeremy is an avid backpacker, yoga practitioner and photographer. He loves to learn, and his latest pursuits include drawing and Eastern philosophy.
