Babui Salsabil
Class of 2021
Babui Salsabil joins the GHD program with five years’ experience in international development. She started her career with the pioneer market systems development project, Katalyst, where she designed innovative interventions to improve livelihoods of rural farmers of Bangladesh. Babui has also been a part of the first-ever Local Economic Development (LED) project in Bangladesh, where she devised strategies for public-private partnership (PPP) through participatory collaboration between local government institutions and private sector. Eventually Babui became the Regional Advisor of Swisscontact, South Asia, where she guided projects in financial inclusion, SME promotion, and skills development in Bangladesh and Nepal. Babui has attended international development seminars in Kenya and Albania.
Babui’s community involvement had begun from an early age as a student at United World College (UWC), India, where she volunteered at homes for mentally challenged adults and HIV positive children. Babui completed her BBA from University of Richmond, Virginia, where she studied as a Richmond Scholar. She also has a Master’s in Development Studies from BRAC University, Bangladesh, where she graduated with the highest distinction. Babui has worked at Citibank, N.A. and Standard Chartered Bank before joining the development sector. Babui is a native Bengali speaker, fluent in Hindi and Urdu, and has just started learning French. Babui looks forward to learning from the diverse experiences of her GHD faculty and classmates.
