Emily Keane graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and English at the University of Dayton. Following graduation, she worked as a Peace Corps Volunteer Leader in the village of Rodnykivka in central Ukraine as a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) Volunteer for a little under three years. One of her main projects during was helping to restart a nation-wide Model United Nations initiative after Maidan which resulted in multiple iterations of the national camp and mini-camps, a working group focused on Model UN, and building a network of Ukrainian and American volunteers to lead events, programming, and translation of materials. As Peace Corps Volunteer Leader, she worked closely with staff to edit and revise policies, write and edit Peace Corps manuals for Peace Corps Ukraine, mentor current volunteers, and design and lead trainings at in-service trainings and conferences.
