Promoting Best Practices in Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning
This summer, I interned with the Managing for Results (MfR) team at World Resources Institute based in Washington, D.C. The MfR team was established to equip the institution to understand if the work is contributing to the longer-term positive changes or impacts that WRI intends to make in the world. By providing technical expertise and direct support to teams, the MfR teams aim to foster a robust culture of learning and accountability and promote best practices in planning, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (PMEL). As a PMEL intern, I supported the rollout of WRI's new M&E system DevResults, conducted desk research and literature review on climate indicators, and built dashboards to visualize ongoing project data and track progress towards the MfR top outcomes in PowerBI. My summer internship reinforced my passion for using data and evidence to improve the decision-making process and program design, as I continue to pursue my Quantitative Analysis and Evaluation specialization in the second year.
