Leveraging Sector-Specific Analysis for Poverty Alleviation
I worked with The Human Capital Project Team at The World Bank. As part of my internship, I led case studies for the Disruptive Technology for Innovations in HD Service Delivery Project and analyzed the Bank’s Development Policy Operations (DPO) portfolio. In doing so, I was able to leverage the sector-specific (particularly education, health, social protection, and gender) analysis for poverty alleviation programs learnt in GHDP-513, coding techniques for categorization of projects as human-capital focused learnt in GHDP-506, and the Theory of Change and Result Frameworks of the Ed-Tech program I designed for GHDP-504. Additionally, I attended decision review meetings and knowledge seminars which provided meaningful insights from experts and policymakers across countries. My summer internship experience was a perfect intersection of my two specializations—Development Finance and Human Capital, and greatly helped me identify skill-sets and focus areas for my second year.
