Katryna Mahoney
Class of 2022
Katryna Mahoney joins GHD after working at InterAction as Program Associate for Protection on the Humanitarian Policy and Practice Team. As a cultural anthropologist by training and development-humanitarian practitioner in the making, she is curious about how we, as individuals and collectives, make meaning of our lives in an effort to contribute spreading goodness in the world.
Previously, Katryna worked as a consultant for the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) in Geneva – hosted by the U.N. Migration Agency (IOM) – supporting the forum’s contribution to the Global Compact for Migration. She also spent 15 months in Morocco as a Fulbright researcher exploring the socio-economic participation of West and Central African Migrants in Casablanca. Katryna holds an M.Sc. in Migration Studies from Oxford University and a B.A. in Anthropology & Sociology from Spelman College. She is a 2020 Donald M. Payne International Development Graduate Fellow and will join the USAID Foreign Service upon graduation. In her free time, Katryna can be found tending to her plant garden or giving thanks and sun salutations.
