Developing Environmental & Agricultural Strategies at USAID Bangladesh in the Economic Growth Office
Over the summer, I conducted my internship with USAID Bangladesh in the Economic Growth Office. I worked primarily with the agriculture and environment team on their portfolios which ranged several backstops and thematic areas. Through the environment team I assisted in developing a strategy that addressed climate change synergies across all the technical offices within the mission. With both the environment and agriculture teams I was able to conduct two site visits, one of them was to Cox’s Bazar with the environment team and the other with the agriculture team to Jessore and Khulna, located near the country's delta’s. In these sites, I was able to assist the office in supporting several gardening activities, the training of extension agents for livestock production, activities targeting communities impacted by the Rohingya crisis, as well as several other seed production activities.
Upon completion of the Global Human Development Program I will join USAID as an Environment Officer, and I now feel prepared to make informed adjustments to my final year of graduate studies.
