Nasif Rashad Khan

Nasif R. Khan is currently the Head of Strategic Partnerships at BRAC, one of the largest NGOs in the world. He has about a decade long experience in international development, rooted in the global south. He has diverse work experience in the humanitarian and development contexts, emphasizing on financial services to the poor, youth leadership development, livelihood and skills development, and refugee response. Recent areas of work include strategy formulation and execution, organizational development, comprehensive humanitarian response, financial inclusion, program design, and fundraising. Since joining BRAC in 2015, he has worked on multiple cross-functional programs and roles. Most recently, he was the Chief of Staff, Executive Director’s Office (EDO), BRAC -- overseeing the EDO’s operation in BRAC Bangladesh. He coordinated with the senior management of BRAC to develop BRAC’s strategy for 2021-25. He worked directly on program design and fundraising for BRAC’s Rohingya Response, since the onset of the crisis in August, 2017. He co-led the strategy development team for formulating BRAC’s 2018 Rohingya Response Plan. He managed key partnerships, including the ones with UNHCR, WFP, DFAT, Global Affairs Canada, Open Society Foundation, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF). He was one of the co-founding members of the program development and resource mobilization team within BRAC. In addition, he co-led the new financial product development and research on microfinance, especially in the area of mobile money.
Prior to joining BRAC, he worked on youth leadership development at Bangladesh Youth Leadership Centre (BYLC), where he launched a new leadership program and led national leadership summits. He has completed several international leadership programs, including WISE Learners’ Voice in 2015-16, and Common Purpose Indo-Pacific Venture Program for Emerging Leaders in 2019. He is also a Commonwealth Certified trainer on Entrepreneurship Development.
Born in Bangladesh, Nasif graduated Magna Cum Laude from Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), majored in Finance in 2011 (degree conferred in 2013).
