Nasim Gul Azizi
Class of 2024
Nasim Gul Azizi is from Herat province, Afghanistan. She is an Afghan woman who has advocated for girls and women’s rights since 2008. She graduated from Ghalib University with BA degree in Business Administration. Nasim is very excited about the GHD programs, because she worked for women’s empowerment through the Afghanistan Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Nasim’s association provided income generation activities and skills training for women in the rural areas. Most of Nasim’s work experience is related to peace, gender equality, women’s empowerment, agriculture and rural development.
Nasim has participated in several international conferences and programs related to gender equality and women’s rights. A few notable examples are: two Women Deliver conferences and a Women’s Leadership training with the European Institute of Public Administration. She is both a Women Deliver Young Leader, and a USIP Generation Change Fellow. At Georgetown, Nasim intends to expand her professional skills, networks and learn from the experiences of the faculty and her classmates. She has many plans to work in the field of her master’s degree program with a specialization in food, agriculture and rural development.
