Shaun Rolph
Class of 2022
Shaun Rolph hails from Massachusetts but has lived around the world. He is a Marine veteran who earned his eagle globe and anchor as well as his bachelor’s degree in International Political Economy. At Bryant University, Shaun built his economics and global supply chain management skills in order to research the connection between country and business development. His motivation for development stemmed from a deployment to Afghanistan to assist with country building. While attending university he worked with the U.S. Treasury Department as well as NGOs in order to research and communicate the influence of policy on the economy and specific business sectors. Once graduated, Shaun joined the Peace Corps and helped manage a bamboo social-enterprise in Timor-Leste. He implemented business processes and managed grant projects in order to increase the sustainability and capacity of the bamboo industry in his host country. He helped develop an industry that crossed between rural farming, manufacturing, and even the tourism sector to alleviate poverty. Shaun is interested in furthering his research in sustainable development, specifically resource management and value chain development in developing countries.
