DC Internships

“I have been working part-time as a Fellow with the Global Campaign for Education-US for two semesters, where I have assisted with global and national advocacy, communications, and finance mobilization efforts surrounding the global right to quality, inclusive, education for all. Working with GCE-US has been an incredible experience to grow as a global education advocate and learn from the work of other education civil society organizations. It has been really gratifying to see how the concepts I learn in class play out in discussions among education stakeholders, from Ministers of Education to grassroots education leaders.”

Interning in Washington, DC while enrolled in the GHD program provides an invaluable opportunity for professional growth and expanding students’ networks. Through the internship students develop or hone skills, enhance their resumes, refine their career objectives, and build on lessons learned in academic coursework. GHD students are required to have at least one internship during their course of study, in addition to their summer internship.
Internships can be:

10-14 weeks duration during the academic year
With one organization or multiple, depending on a student’s area of specialization, thematic focus, and regional interests
Paid or unpaid
On site, virtual or hybrid
With a development organization in the DC area, or within the continental US unless approved in advance.
